Israel on Monday became the first country after the United States to receive the U.S.-built F-35 stealth jet which will increase its ability to attack distant targets, including Iran.

The much-hyped arrival of the first two fighter jets was overshadowed by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s tweet that Lockheed Martin’s (LMT.N) whole F-35 project was too expensive, and the delivery was delayed for hours by bad weather preventing their take-off from Italy.

Netanyahu Set to Embark on Rare Trip to Muslim Countries

Times of Israel

In an effort to reach out to moderate Muslim countries, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is slated Tuesday morning to take off for a historic two-day visit to Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. He will thus become the first sitting Israeli prime minister to visit the region in almost 25 years of diplomatic relations between Jerusalem and the former Soviet Republics of Central Asia.

Both countries are important allies. Azerbaijan, which has a long border with Iran, is a secular state that has long had warm relations with Israel. Nearly 98 percent of its 10 million citizens are Muslim, the vast majority of them Shiites. Baku is one of Israel’s main trading partners, buying weapons systems and providing the Jewish state with the lion’s share of its oil. Israeli trade with Azerbaijan is said to be significantly higher than with France, for example.

A top adviser to President-elect Donald Trump said moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem is a major priority.

“That is a very big priority for this president-elect, Donald Trump,” Kellyanne Conway told conservative talk radio host Hugh Hewitt during his radio show Monday, according to Politico.

“It is something that our friend in Israel, a great friend in the Middle East, would appreciate and something that a lot of Jewish Americans have expressed their preference for,” Conway said. “It is a great move. It is an easy move to do based on how much he talked about that in the debates and in the sound bites.”

The government plans to adopt an international definition of anti-Semitism to help tackle hatred towards Jews. Police, councils, universities and public bodies can adopt the wording, Theresa May will say in a speech later.
The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), which the UK belongs to, created the definition. It calls anti-Semitism a “perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews.”

Prime Minister Theresa May will argue that a clear definition means anyone guilty of anti-Semitism in “essence, language or behaviour” will be “called out on it”.

Netanyahu: I Stood Up Against Iran Deal Because It Endangers Israel

The chilly ties between the leaders of the US and Israeli governments did not drive the Jewish state’s fierce opposition to the nuclear deal reached last year between Iran and six world powers, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in remarks to be aired on CBS’s “60 Minutes” program on Sunday.

“Yes, we had differences of opinion — I had differences of opinion with President [Barack] Obama, most well known, of course, is Iran,” Netanyahu told CBS’s Lesley Stahl. “Suppose we had the greatest of personal chemistry. You think I wouldn’t stand up against the Iran deal if I thought, as I did, that it endangers the existence of Israel? Of course I would.”
